Great day in Kotor
Our day with Daniel was great. The walk through the village of Kotor and the boat ride out to the blue cave couldn't have been any nicer. Taking a private tour - which allowed us to do what we wanted, when we wanted - was key to exploring Kotor with the guidance of our Guide, especially when the small village started to get crowded. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch overlooking the bay, eating local food. The communication with the company prior to our visit was quick and efficient, as we were trying to setup our arrival and departure information. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to learn about the area and wants to avoid large groups. Great time! Every question and email answered right away. This stop was the best part of our 11 day Mediterranean cruise. Having never been to Montenegro we had no idea what to expect. We had a fantastic time. Daniel was so knowledge and charismatic. He brought out charm and history of Kotor to life. We had several stops on our tour, Lady of Rock, Prevast and old town. Each stop was accompanied by history, way of life and interesting facts. Fantastic tour! Highly recommend this private company. Excellent customer service and Great Tour! We visited Kotor as a port of call on our recent cruise. To be honest, we knew nothing about Montenegro so had to do some research about it. Once we saw all Kotor had to offer, we couldn’t wait to get there. I reached out to this private tour company and Liset was so responsive and very easy to work with. We exchanged multiple emails and decided what sites we would visit when we arrived in Kotor. The day before we arrived, Liset reached out to us to tell us the weather called for rain all day and that our boat tour wouldn’t be the best idea. She immediately offered to refund our deposit, with no hesitation. We decided to wait until the morning to make a decision and see how the weather was. The next morning, the weather was indeed lightly raining but we reached out to Liset to see if she had any suggestions for a rainy day tour. She had several suggestions and set us up with a tour with her husband Daniel. Let me just say, we have never had a personal tour guide with so much knowledge and personality as Daniel! He gave us such an amazing tour of the towns and the Our lady of the Rocks with all of the history behind it. We highly recommend using Liset and Daniel for your next stop in Kotor! Read less Date of experience: October 2022 It's easy to see why Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site Review of: Kotor Old Town Small-Group Walking Tour Stunning place. Daniel was full of enthusiasm and energy but didn't have rose tinted spectacles. he gave an insight to not only Kotor but also the history of Montenegro. The Old Town is only small so 1.5 hours is enough although you might want to add the walk up to the top of the hill. The view from the Church of Our Lady of Remedy (about a third of the way up) which we did after the tour, was sufficient to get great views up the fjord (I know it isn't but it has that feel). Excellent tour with wonderful guide Our tour with Kotor Private Tours was excellent and even more having Liset as our tour guide. Even weeks before our trip started, Liset established a high-quality line of communication and she was ready to answer any questions we might have and was very accommodating in changing the size of our group a couple of times as per our request. Once we arrived in Kotor, she was prepared to receive us at the port entrance, and a very beautiful and clean bus was waiting for us. She took us to all the places she offered when we purchased the tour and we never felt rushed or ignored by her or the driver, and even gave us options on the spot to continue the day. Friendly, ready to answer all our questions, and even sharing with us a little bit of her family life in Montenegro made us feel as if we were part of that family as well. Upon disembarking our ship we were met by Liset who had a sign with my name waiting for us at the dock. She is friendly, knowledgeable, witty, and an absolutely joy to be not only as a tour guide but as a person. She and her husband are so lovely and FUN to be with that our tour with her was the absolute highlight of our 35 day European trip. She expertly navigated us through the historic town, the church on the island and dropped us a local favorite restaurant. Likewise, she took us to the street market were we picked up cheese and meats to take back with us to the ship. Communication via email was excellent, payment was smooth and the tour was perfect! From the moment we worked with her to book our private tour for our three-generation family (ages 14-80), we knew we found the perfect guide for our day! Liset was so knowledgable and assisted us in picking the right sights for our group, met us at the cruise ship port, kept all of us informed and entertained with stories, and instructed our boat drivers so everything went smoothly. We loved visiting Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks via a nice private boat, and had a fantastic walking tour of the old historic town. Montenegro was gorgeous, and if we get a chance to go back, we’d definitely book with Liset and Kotor Private Tours again! We spent a few days in Kotor and Licet went above and beyond for us - recommending the best activities did us to do each day and even helping to book them for us for really good prices and it meant we got the most of of our stay in this beautiful place. Everything was arranged for us with no stress, even private transport. We did one day of sailing with Daniel, it was incredible - he is such an experienced sailor, fascinating to watch and he even gave us lessons on sailing and so much interesting knowledge about the area - the views from the sea are breathtaking, we had the most memorable day. We also did one half day speed boat tour to blue cave organised by Liset - highly recommended and she also organised for us to do a day of canyoning - another amazing adventure! Review of: Kotor Old Town Small-Group Walking Tour We had an excellent day out with Liset. Our private group had 6 adults and 5 teens, everyone had a great time. The tour of the town was informative and Liset answered all our questions. We then got on a boat to visit the Lady of the Rocks, again amazing. We headed to the Blue Caves after and out boat driver made sure we enjoyed the ride and we’re able to jump into the water in the caves. Lastly, we had a lovely lunch in Perast, complete with a round of Happy Birthday to one in our group celebrating that day. Private Tour for Group of 6 Great private tour for our group of 3 adults and 3 children. We first visited Perast and went to Our Lady of the Rocks which was cute and has a great story. Then we walked along the Perast promenade. We finished with a walk around Old Town Kotor. Beyond our expectations Review of: Relax and enjoy sailing boat tour of the Bay 5 stars is not enough to review the wonderful experieince we had with Liset and Daniel! The excursions to Our Lady of the Rocks, a family owned Mussel Farm, a private walking tour of Old Kotor City, a gorgeous local winery, transfers to and from the airport and more were beyond our expectations. They were so friendly, so knowledgeable, passionate about their country and made us feel like immediate friends. They are also a lot of fun!! We highly reccomend this wonderful company and can't wait to see them again!! Extremely pleasant tour of Kotor Review of: Kotor Old Town Small-Group Walking Tour What a great experience! Previously we’d have to persuade the kids to join us for a walk around somewhere incredible by bribing them with promises of ice cream, but Liset took all the boring bits away of trying to work out where you are, reading a guidebook and negotiating said ice cream bribes! Liset was informative, interesting and really engaging. We all had a great time as Liset made it suitable for all ages of children (ours are 11, 9 and 7). We would highly recommend! Nice experience I visited Kotor, Lovcen, Njegusi with a private guide from KOTOR PRIVATE TOURS AND EXCURSIONS and I loved it, I’m an independent traveler and the private guide was a great way to take in the culture and have fun in Montenegro! Wonderful day in Kotor Review of: Kotor Old Town Small-Group Walking Tour Milos, our tour guide, gave us many interesting pieces of information that we would have overlooked on our own. He also gave us great advice on where, and in what order to go, to hike the fortress trail, and visit other places we were interested in. Great tour Review of: Kotor Old Town Small-Group Walking Tour This was a great tour. The guide was knowledgeable and guided us around town showing us places we would not have found on our own and even provided some advice on where to eat and shop after the tour. We loved the guide, very personable. I would highly recommend this tour. One of the best sailing experiences Liset and Daniel made sure we had a wonderful day sailing around the Bay of Kotor. There is definitely no better way to enjoy this area and forget about August heat and crowds than at sea! Some of the highlights were Perast,Our Lady of the Rocks,Island of Flowers, Saint Mark's island having ofcourse lots of swimming time from the boat, we had a perfect day. If you are looking for the one to one experience with amazing hosts we highly recommend Kotor Private Tours. Amazing time sailing in Montenegro My family and friends had the best time sailing around Kotor. Liset and Daniel were very knowledgeable about the area and very entertaining.
