Not happy with Viking - lost 2 out 4.5 hours. Guide Daniel subbed for original guide as she was sick. He was great - native, extremely knowledgeable, funny, tried his best to make up for the time issue. Old town of Kotor was very interesting; he knew it's history very well. Only saw Budva from a scenic lookout, then drove back. I think the original plan of 4.5 hours would have been great; 2.5 hours not enough but Daniel was great. Nice Mercedes van. She was the consummate professional having communicated with me quickly and thoroughly, provided a comprehensive plan which she adapted to meet conditions of the day (threat of bad weather), and was quite flexible with the pace to respond to one member of our group of 4 who had some mobility issues. Google, Oct 2023 We have 3 young kids and decided to do a private tour instead of a ship Shore excursion for the flexibility and personalized attention. This a family run business. Liset was incredibly professional from the very beginning and proposed great ideas over email to make the tour suitable for young kids. Daniel, her husband was our tour guide for the day and met us at the tender boat arrivals area. It was like meeting an old friend. He was very relatable with references to NFL teams so my husband immediately hit it off. Daniel was also very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Montenegro. You can definitely get his sense of pride for his homeland but was also pragmatic about the politics of the area. He peppered the history and social studies lessons with anecdotes from his own life and stories of his family which was so charming. To please the kids as per their last minute request, he even found a lovely playground in a beautiful park in Cetinje for them to burn off some steam first and then took us to Njegusi village at the home of a local friend to try the local delicacies Trust me when I say that this was heavenly, not just for the amazing food and hospitality but mostly for the chance to meet a truly humble gentleman keeping up his family legacy. We then drove down the switchback road that we came up on and Daniel was great at maneuvering around huge busses on a pretty narrow road. My husband spotted a zipline randomly and was eager to try it but I dissuaded him and he reluctantly agreed. Daniel wisely remained neutral for that debate between husband and wife. My husband might actually return to Kotor some day just to try that zipline! Thank you Liset and Daniel for planning a wonderful tour, showing us your home and making us feel at home. They were overly accommodating to our cruise ship change in plans and crafted a custom excursion to Lake Skadar that was terrific. It included a boat ride, an awesome home cooked meal at a lake side retreat and wine. Daniel was very patient and sweet with our special needs teens & cruise ship delay. Google, Sep 2023 I don't usually review tours...however when it comes to Kotor Private Tours, both myself and my wife believe it is more than well deserved. We travel and tour quite a bit, and without doubt this was the most, interesting, informing and enjoyable tour we have ever done. Usually, most tours loose me after a couple of hours of seeing yet "another" ruin, with yet another Roman history lesson (Yawn). Liset greeted us in the morning and brought the Old Town of Montenegro to life with a combination of both the past and present. We then met her husband Daniel, who truly shared his knowledge of how and why life is the way it is today in Montenegro (Fascinating). We headed to Budva for an introduction to the old and new of a growing area. Again very interesting to see and learn of an area in transition. We then headed to meet a speed boat for the remainder of the afternoon and take in the magnificent fjords like vistas. Along the way we moored the boat to take a few minutes for a cold drink, and then disaster....my wife dropped her phone in the Adriatic. As my wife saw her entire life flash before her eyes, no sooner than I can say, Daniel was overboard, recovered the phone, and I am glad to say my wife is a happy camper today as Daniel saved the day. Google, Aug 2023 I cannot recommend Kotor Private Tours enough! We booked the Ultimate Tour and arrived end of July 2023 off of a Norwegian Cruise Ship. Our guide, Ivona, was waiting right on time at the port and was very easy to find. From there, a car took us to beautiful sites along Kotor and out to Budva to explore. Ivona was wonderful and took plenty of pictures of the group and provided great history and answers to all our questions. From the car, we were dropped off to a boat tour of Blue Lagoon/Perast/Our Lady of the Rocks/and swimming. This was SUCH an incredible experience and the Bay of Kotor is something you must experience by boat! Out of our entire trip, Kotor was our favorite experience thanks to the team! Michael Harvey

The town was very quaint and after our walking tour we hopped on a speed boat to see the Blue Cave. Although the boat trip was a long ride to the cave, once inside it was spectacular. There were many boats inside the cave and the weather was wet and windy which made the boat a little rocky as the waves were rushing in. Kate spent the entire time talking about history, culture, and all the ways that Kotor, Montenegro was unique! Even though the weather was not good, (cold, rainy, and windy) it was still our most memorable from our 17-day visit to the mediterranean! Our tour guide Kate had such a wealth of knowledge and shared an hour of interesting facts and stories as we walked the streets of Kotor. The motor boat ride was great in spite of the weather with stunning views of the floating church and a very cool stint in the blue cave! All making for an amazing tour! Philadelphia64 contributions Great private cruise ship excursion in Kotor, Montenegro May 2023 • Family Upon arrival from our cruise ship in Kotor we were met by our guide Daniel, who stayed with us for the entire day. His English was excellent. Our first stop was the scenic view point for the Bay of Kotor. Next on to the overlook point for the beautiful Aman Sveti Stefan Hotel, which was built on a fortified village dating back to the 15th century. Beautiful! On our way to catch our boat to the Blue Cave we stopped at the Vista Vidikovac Restaurant for more scenic views and a coffee break. After a fabulous time on the boat making several scenic stops and swimming at the Blue Cave, Daniel brought us back to the city of Kotor. Our family of 9 had a great cruise ship stop in Kotor. She provided timely and comprehensive info which helped us select the best options for our tour. I was monitoring the weather forecasts which were a bit iffy (cold and rain) which would put a damper on our planned speedboat tour of the bay BUT Liset had already had a contingent plan with a Mercedes van standing by (we actually decided that was our best option). She was thorough, providing info on the history, culture and geography of the area while keeping it light and fun. The tours of Our Lady of the Rocks, Perast and our walking tour of Kotor old city were perfect and the pace was just right. We invited Liset to have lunch with us and her recommendation for venue and menu were perfect. I can't recommend Liset enough--she was one of the best we have had in our many global travels. We took a high speed boat to Blue Cave, Submarine tunnels, Lady of our Rocks, Perast and then saw the old town of Kotor. Lisette kept in great communication with us. We were on a cruise and our dates kept changing. She was very accommodating. Our guide was great. I am sorry that I don't remember his name but he is Lisette's husband. Down payment to reserve was convenient and secure. Tour guide with private car met us on time at the port gate. Our tour to Citenji, Njegusi, return via the scenic serpentine road, followed by a walking tour of Kotor was done in a way to avoid the many cruise ship bus tours which was much appreciated. The visit and light lunch at the ham smokehouse, with a great conversation with the welcoming owner will be remembered. Ivanka was an amazing guide, the driver of a spotless limo was professional. If you find your self in the jewel of the Adriatic Sea-Montenegro- AND you find yourself in magnificent city of Kotor, then you must book your tour with Liset of Kotor Private Tours. Upon disembarking our ship we were met by Liset who had a sign with my name waiting for us at the dock. She is friendly, knowledgeable, witty, and an absolutely joy to be not only as a tour guide but as a person. She and her husband are so lovely and FUN to be with that our tour with her was the absolute highlight of our 35 day European trip. She expertly navigated us through the historic town, the church on the island and dropped us a local favorite restaurant. Likewise, she took us to the street market were we picked up cheese and meats to take back with us to the ship. Communication via email was excellent, payment was smooth and the tour was perfect!
